Starface, a skincare brand specializing in star-shaped acne patches, was in need of original 3D graphics and animations in order to promote their flagship product, “Big Yellow,” in addition to their new face wash, “Space Wash.”

Launching Space Wash with Starface …
Someone & Others hired me to help create “the world” for Starface’s space-inspired skincare. Using 3D and stylized motion graphics, we created a star-studded universe that lived on their website, socials, and other marketing materials. After the success of this campaign, we continued on to create a commercial for Youtube focused on the brand’s flagship product, Big Yellow.
The Process
Working with Someone & Others was a very collaborative process. They provided me with Starface’s branding, but also stewarded the creative vision and managed the marketing side of the operation. Starface has such a fun brand and I was grateful to create 3D and motion graphics in its spacey, starry universe.

And Then
We agreed on a stylistic direction. I then went ahead and modeled the product packaging in 3D. Following that, I created the planets in 3D, and animated varied starry embellishments.

At First
We sketched out what galaxy the products would live in. I created prototypes of 3D textures, colors, and styles.

Someone & Others provided me with a script highlighting Starface’s product offerings. I animated around the beats, and we produced a commercial for web, socials, and beyond.

Commercial for Big Yellow,the star of Starface …
After the success of the Space Wash campaign, we continued on to create a commercial for Youtube focused on the brand’s flagship product, Big Yellow, and “out of this world” skincare. I extended the “Starface Galaxy” with more original 3D and animation, resulting in a 15 second Youtube commercial.
